This is my 7th year teaching Kindergarten at Silver Lake Elementary.

I previously taught 2nd grade at Osborne Elementary.  I was a para educator in a 1st grade classroom at Hillcrest Elementary in Lawrence.  I co-taught Kindergarten at a Montessori school in Lawrence as well.  I was a substitute teacher in the Manhattan, Lawrence, Silver Lake, Rossville and St. Mary's School Districts for many years.  I did daycare in my home while my kids were small for 6 years as well.

I am originally from Osborne, KS.  I am the oldest of 10 children!  I have been around, raising, teaching and enjoying kids my whole life.  I am very close to my 6 sisters and 3 brothers.  They all live in Kansas and we love getting together for holidays and various family functions.  So far there are 27 grandchildren!

I married Alan Streit in January of 1998. 
He is an Attorney: The General Counsel for the KTA.

We moved to Rossville, in December 2003.

We have 5 children and a son-in-law.  

** We also added another member to our family in the 2014-2015 school year!
Vanessa- @15 years old, came to us from Germany and is/was our Foreign Exchange Student/Daughter. :)
She attended Rossville High School.  She went back home to Germany in June 2015.  She will forever be our German born daughter.  We will never forget this amazing experience and can't wait to visit her someday in Germany!                                   

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family.  Watching them in their numerous activities, playing games, taking walks, watching movies, cooking, watching/attending K-State sporting events, playing sports, taking pictures, reading, shopping, etc. 

They keep me very busy!!
